Not having a TV at home - but house-sitting a home right now that has a TV has me checkin' things out (nothin's on!)...

The other night I watched The Swan (I'd think it would be much like Extreme Makeover?) and man was it awful!! I mean...these women stand dramatically in front of a curtain waiting to see themselves after 3 months of not being near a mirror. When the curtain is pulled back to reveal a mirror the looks on their faces is gut-wrenching. Why? Because they don't recognize themselves!!! They even SAY, "I don't recognize myself!" and to me that just sends chills up my spine...I mean....your physical body is a reflection of your Soul, your Spirit, your Self, your Experience of Living! ...and when your face has been altered and you've got false eyelashes on and extension and dyed hair and makeup galore and you're stuffed into a synthetic prom dress.....YUK!!! Do people really think this is HOT?

Does anyone else think it's creepy to NOT recognize yourself???? argh....seems ghoulish...and something that only a totally bankrupt society at the end of their ropes would think of!

I think the extreme makeover is okay when someone has a horrible deformity (like the woman with the cleft lip) but other than that I think all these plastic surgery shows are horrid. The Swan is the worst....
