My goal was 10 days and I made it. This is my first fast of this caliber (no actual food at all). Most of the fast was fine. The first 3 days were hard and the 9th, for some reason, was also hard. I really just wanted to quit that day.
Yesterday was the 10th day and last night I did a liver cleanse - no actual stones yet, just lots of mucus. I drank diluted orange juice this morning and just had a cup of homemade vegetable broth an hour ago, which was wonderful. I plan on making a soup for my family tonight and I will have just the broth. Then tomorrow, I'll eat some vegies too.
I lost 11 lbs as of this morning, so that's about a lb. a day. I had been on the South Beach Diet before this and my goal was 145 (I'm 5'7"). So I surpassed my goal this morning by 1/2 lb. I know I'll put some back on afterwards, but weight wasn't my top priority - cleansing was and I feel like I'm really clean. My family thinks I'm nuts and will be glad when I'm eating again, however, it's changed the way we eat in just 11 days.
So, just wanted to share to all the people who are fasting for the first time and encourage you to keep going. It's worth it.
Will keep in touch with the forum. To everyone that helped me, thanks for all the encouragement and answers to my questions. This forum is great.
