Hello everyone! I found this forum quite by chance but it seems to be just what I need! I'm 25, female, and started my second cleanse today. The first time I did it was about a year ago when I stayed on it for 10 days and lost about 15lbs in that time. Over the year I'd gained almost all of that weight back (yeah, I know...) so now I'm trying to fast again but it's been much harder sticking to it again. I've tried to start several times already but never lasted long so hopefully, this forum will FORCE me to stay on the fast!! :)
I currently weigh about 160lbs and would like to go down to 130, hopefully losing half of the 30lbs by fasting. I did it last year so I hope I can pull it off again!!
Anyway, that was the intro. I also have a few "tips" from my first fast to share, if anyone's interested.
First of all, I don't do lemonade. I can't stand the taste of it and there is no way I would last even a day drinking that horrible thing. I drink (mint) tea instead. I make it all at once and only use one teabag for all of it, making it very mild that way. Then I add lemon and maple/palm syrup as instructed.
The cayenne is the main spoiler really so instead of adding it to a perfectly tasty tea, I put one pinch of cayenne in a separate glass, add a little water and drink it as quickly as possible and then drink a few sips of my tea immediately afterwards. That way I never need to taste the cayenne but still ingest it.
Altogether I drink at least 3 litres of liquid per day, about half of that being the tea (8 spoons of syrup), the other half, water.
On my first fast I used laxative tea but I remember those stomach cramps so vividly I'm considering switching to
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) if that's any less painful (is it?). I don't know about drinking salty water but I also don't want to experience that kind of pain again unless I'm giving birth to a child so I think maybe it'd be better do do the flushes?
