If it is definitely a hernia (not a hydrocele), be sure that the blood supply is the baby's own blood. You can choose to have the baby's blood taken prior to surgery for use during surgery (in order to ensure that it won't be contaminated blood). It just may be possible to have nutrition repair the hernia because there is most likely no muscular exertion at all. Check Dr. Clark .

It can be healed naturally, but you would need to find a way to reduce the hernia effectively and maintain the reduction so that you could apply a fomentation to it.

I don't think they make trusses for 4mo olds but who knows, something creative can always be made. The fomentation would be soaked in a very special tissue building herb formula (Bone, Flesh, and Cartilage) developed by the late Dr. John R. Christopher.
