my doctor told me that nothing will get rid of a hernia except surgery. People walk around with hernias sometimes for years and years and unless it hurts or becomes so unattrative they never do anything about it.
It will not just go away. If your husband has a hernia he needs to have it looked at-- any general surgeon is trained in hernia surgery.
Most hernia repairs are done as same day surgery ( some require a hospital stay)
and make sure he gets an opportunity to heal right after surgery or the chances of it coming back is increased.
