Chinese medicine says that Orange Juice is not great for us, that it causes mucous.
I'm not a big fan of orange juice so it was no problem for me to avoid it, but I got curious. Is it really mucous forming?
So Sunday, at breakfast, after not eating for at least 12 hours and feeling pretty fine, I downed a glass of fresh-squeezed from a restaurant, a little hole-in-the-wall breakfast only place, while waiting for my order.
As I talked with my friend, I found myself reaching for a Kleenex. Sure enough, my nose was draining a tad, like it always done after I've eaten something that is mucous causing. So that's it then, orange juice DOES cause mucous! :(
I'll still be eating oranges, they're one of my favorite treats, but no more juice. Best to get the fiber benefits from the whole fruit.
