Well, I have begun to have NAET treatments. I didn't know I was going down that road. I was telling a girlfriend by email that I was having health issues and that I was delaying my house search because I'd finally decided to bite the bullet and consult a health practitioner. Nothing has had lasting effects for me; not
Liver Flushes (15),
Colon Cleanses (3) fungus and candida cleanses, raw diet, supplements you name it.
My girlfriend wrote that she understands the high cost of holistic care, given that she sees a naturopath too for her various allergies. Hmm, I asked if he was good and she mentioned that she can now eat carrots after having allergy to them for all of her life. So, she gives me his name and number and I make an appointment to see him the next day. He explained NAET to me and I told him that I had always stayed away from muscle testing because of all that is out there, it seemed to be hokey science. But I was desperate and I'd tried most every thing else. Besides, I already had an appointment with another naturopath the following week. At any rate, he tests me for what they call the Basic 10 and I am allergic to Sugar, Vitamin C, Calcium, B Vitamins, Mold, Grains, and something else I don't remember.
He gives me a "treatment" for the grains and sugar, and I am admonished to stay away from these items for 25 hours. Well, I go to Trader Joes and get a bunch of salads along with some carrot sticks. I end up just eating almost the entire bag of carrot sticks because for some reason they taste delicious. I pass the worst night on record with burning skin, extreme itchiness, eczema and pus behind and in my ear. My face is burning hot and starts peeling excessively. I thought about the carrot sticks as the cause but I had started becomeing itchy during the treatment and got progressively worse as the night wore on before I'd consumed even one carrot stick. I was miserable and becoming even more skeptical.
I had an appointment the following day (yesterday) and he was going to treat me for another one of the basic ten. Instead I asked him if he could test me for allergy to hormones or something. Something told me that the burning skin and hives and extreme itchiness was due to something internal, because even when I wouldn't consume anything for a whole day I would experience an increase in itching and burning. He found that I was allergic to parathyroid and progesterone. He gave me that treatment for the day and told me that since those items weren't food items that I could eat anything I wanted but just keep my log of reactions.
My 18 month old daughter was sick with the flu, her dad was working and I was itching very badly. My daughter was extremely irritable and inconsolable. I began crying because I couldn't comfort her and because I was feeling wretched physically and so I massaged my pressure points as the naturopath had instructed.
I'm not sure how much time had passed but suddenly I felt a calm, and I was peeling the scabs off my neck and from my eczema wounds. It was peeling very easily and so I took a baby wipe and frantically rubbed off all the scabs from around my neck. My neck was raw and so even though I was tempted to rub the scabs off everywhere else I simply let them alone and rubbed some vaseline on my neck because it's soothing.
Later that night I warily approached bed because during sleep is usually when I experience the most burning, oozing and itchiness that frequently wake me from sleep. This time there was no burning but I woke up feeling extremely itchy, and I realized that it wasn't my neck (which remained dry and didn't ooze), it was those places where I didn't rub off the dead skin. I got up and scratched off all of the dead skin and rubbed on vaseline. I went back to bed and slept like a baby.
Today I experienced some itchiness when I bathed (I always knew I was allergic to the chlorine) but have not had a return of the oozing and burning. I am anxious to go back and test and clear more allergies. I'm now a believer!
