I have OCD, and when I think about my mouth, I salivate. This has ruined my life. I can no longer do normal things like talk or sing. This has gone on over two years. (See my page at http://raggedtiger.tripod.com/ocd.html for more info.)
My current psychologist wants me to ask around and see if it is actually possible for a person to make themselves salivate. He wonders if I am possibly just moving the existing saliva around in my mouth so that it *feels* like I have more saliva than normal.

This is a reply to # 37,857My first bout of my salivation occured when I was 12. It worried me but I forgot about it until it came back about a year or so later. Then throughout my teenage years it occured more frequently. Once when I was in my early 20's it lasted a whole month(every day, all day) It was always depressing, scary.
A Psychiatrist once told me I have OCD too.I worry or have worried about a lot of other things besides mouth salivation.(but I don't do the mouth salivation anymore but I worry about other things)
