so i was recently diagnosed with herpes, and was given kind of a general explanation of how it's spread and such...i got it through oral sex...my partner had oral herpes and by performing oral sex gave me genital herpes. so what i want to know is this, if i don't have oral herpes, can i still give someone genital herpes by performing oral sex on them? and if someone performs oral sex on me, are they going to get oral herpes? i know they are a similar disease, but just because u have oral herpes doesn't necessarily mean you have genital herpes or vice versa..am i right? i'm not sure, but i'm curious to know so that i can know exactly what activities are going to be safe w/ my future partners, and which are going to require a little more precaution. if anyone knows for sure the answers to any of my questions, please let me know. thanks.
