I don't know where to go to find out about and report reactions from the flu shot. I had my four year old given the flu shot on Friday. He was one of the millions of kids who got really sick last year with last years flu.
Anyway about 24-36 hours after the flu shot his face began to swell up. By Sunday morning his eye was nearly swelled shut along with the whole left side of his head and splotchy parts on the right side of his face.
By this morning when he awoke his entire face was swelled beyond recognition and the hot red rash and swelling was spreading to his neck, chest, and his arms.
The new pediatrist we have must only be like 23 years old and fresh from India (no prejudice meant). But he would not tell me what was wrong other than it was a reaction to 'something' and gave him a steriod shot and anti histamines.
No one would say what could have caused it and Colten has eaten NOTHING different than usual.
I think they were afraid at the Doc's to admit it might of been a reaction to the flu shot he gave him on Friday because doctors are so afraid of liability... which was the last thing on my mind. I requested that dang shot anyway.
Can anyone help me with the number to report reactions. They used to include a number on the
vaccination sheet they give you, this time I couldn't find one.
