we need some typo of response or idea of what this might be. my brother is autistic, so there for he doesnt speak. last weekend we noticed what seemed like a bites(bug) on his thigh and on each calve, but were drying up. Tuesday, we noticed two new ones again one on each calve, around the same area that the first ones erupted. these have gotten much worse. theres a definate spot in the middle(bite or prick) large area around the spot is red, swelling, tight/hard and warm to the touch. we took him to the doctor yesterday and they prescribed Antibiotics . today, they looked like they were about to burst, we pressed a hot towel on them, and they indeed opened up, blood and some clear liquid came out, we cleaned them off and placed band aids on them. when we removed the band aids to clean the area again, there was slight pus forming on the bigger welt/red spot, but we cleaned it off and applied ointment. does any one have any idea what this might be? we though it might be a spider bite, but why would it bite 5 different times? any clues??? ideas???? we are drawing a blank right now. we dont want to take him into the emergency room because it will be traumatic for him(he wont be able to deal with the situation very well). the doctor had advised us to give him the Antibiotics 2 days straight, and if no change to take him in to the hospital or to see him again. but so far, the doctors have no idea what they might be, and neither do we. can any one help?

Bless his heart. I am so sorry he is having to deal with this.
One of my good friends, who lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, woke up two weeks ago with this horrible fungus that had appeared overnight on her thigh. Of course, down there, there is so much mold that any illness or rash, etc. is possible. As mysteriously as the fungus appeared, it went away quickly.
My first thought, in regard to your brother, was spider bites. It's possible they could bite more than once or there could have been more than one spider. I remember my Aunt Doris was going to take a bath one night and sat down in the bathtub and sat on a brown recluse spider! Her rear end was a sight for a long time. But, to help your brother, you could try placing raw garlic on the sores and if you could, have your brother eat cloves of garlic or swallow them whole. That might be impossible, though. Garlic fights infection, germs, etc. It just stinks.
There are several other things to do, but I want to go a google search and see what else pops up that might help your brother.
By the way, where do you live? That might help me, too.

This is a reply to # 358,230thanks for responding. im going to try the garlic. i have uploaded an image to the ask curezone folder, its not a ver good quality, but you can get the idea. we live in dallas, tx, and from what i recall, he hasn't been outside since we began noticing the lesions. he took a long, hot bath just a few moments ago, and that helped the lesions to open up, the scabs fell off, and theres a mixture of blood,puss and clear liquid coming out. which is helping the tighness loosen up, so maybe its a good thing. im trying not to let the scab form so that the liquid can keep coming out, so im placing a warm towel on it, and its working. right now, im looking in his room, taking his sheets off, seeing if there just might be a spider or something hiding somewhere that will give us some ideas, but nothing yet.Advertisement

This is a reply to # 358,231While reading your post, I wondered if fire ants have moved into the Dallas area? I live in Jackson, Ms. and fire ants are a major problem here. They will cause sores like you described and have even killed nursing home patients who, for one reason or another, can't get out of their beds. Fire ants are mean little devils.

This is a reply to # 358,233...My husband heard last night that there is an outbreak of bedbugs in the New York area.
But, you are not there.
Somewhere on these boards, someone was pointing out the value to the skin of Cayenne pepper.
Apparently, black pepper destroys tissue, but Cayenne pepper heals it. I wouldn't use enough to feel burning, however, the poster suggested a bath with some added. You'd have to 'search' to find out how much to use, and other information.
