My son is 6 and has a very short stature. He is actualy about the size of a average 4 year old. A pediatric endocrinologist had performed a growth hormone test (stim test) and he is growth hormone difficient.
Does anyone have any knowlage of human growth hormone? The endocrinologist is suggesting placing him on growth hormone therapy. Which would consist of daily growth hormone shots. This could continue until 15 -18 yrs of age when he would be done growing or until the hormone no longer produces growth results and he has reached his targeted height.
I'm scared about giving him the growth hormone, but I'm also saddened by what my son goes through on a daily bases and I'm sure it will only get worse as other kids his age continue to grow and he does not.
Are there any alternatives?
