Hi Kelly,
I have been on the Atkin's diet for about 10 years now and originally was tolda bout through a very good friend. However, she never told me that there was a book about it and that there were phases to the diet.
I ended up losing about 100lbs. from eating about 20-30 grams of carbs a day, but no fruits were added and no startchy veggies as well.
About 6 months ago I decided to start adding fruits and whole grains, if it wasn't all natural, I din't want it. Good for me right?!!
Well, I also made plans to shed the last 10lbs. that I had to lose and for some odd reason, I gained 9lbs.
I went the total opposite direction.
I never did increase the carbs by any increments, should I have done that?
I just basically woke up one morning and went to the store and came home to clean out the fridge of nothing but meat and fat, I made sure to stay clear of Banana's, bread, potato's and other white startch foods. I thought I did well.
I ended up quitting this great feeling balanced diet because of the weight gain and went staright back to the inductionand lost 6 of the lbs. that I gained.
My question is:
How do I incorporate fruits and whole grains into my diet without gaining the weight back. My goal is to feel good about my body, while losing excess weight.
Would it be wise for me to do a cycle of cleansing and then fast for 10 days and then start out eating the right foods.
When I gained the weight from the fruits and whole grains, was it temporary?
I did a liver flush and a 5 day water fast and dropped about 13 lbs. and have only gained back 5 of those. I did notice however that my first meal was an apple and that was it for that day and woke up to find myself had gained 2.5 lbs. over night.
Can you please explain this if you can?
I just want to eat normally and I don't mean junk either. I want to live longer and happier on the right foods.
Thank you so much inadvance.
Warmest reagrds,
Kelli
