Hello All,
This post will hopefully be inspiring for those willing to consider it, and I know it's been posted here before, but another testimonial never hurts.
I've had Psoriasis on my elbows (one more than the other) since Nov. '04 after an extended two week fast that I've come to believe detoxed my liver incompletely. It worsened over the course of the next year and eventually spread to my penis, which made my dislike of it grow exponentially and my search for a "cure," if you want to call it that, more urgent. I began Liver Cleansing this past December and have had some success with that, as well as with coffee enemas. However, about a week ago I began practicing uropathy (amaroli, shivambu, whatever you'd like to call it) -- drinking about a half cup of midsteam morning urine -- and have had i would say a 50 percent reduction in redness and scaling and a healing I haven't experied sinced I first began seeing symptoms.
I know that for me Psoriasis is partly psychological, a result of undue stress I put on myself and my body, and its location on my genitals corresponds with early anxieties about sex and sexuality that I am now working through. Meditation and self-exploration have been huge tools for me. HOWEVER, I seem to have had success with this physical accompaniment to my spiritual work.

Just go to the urine therapy forum, there's a lot of info there. Basically it is using your own urine as a healing aid, whether by drinking it or applying it on the skin.

MoreThis is a reply to # 327,152Crunchy, your story sounds identical to mine-- right down to it's location on my penis and a possible link with issues regarding sex/sexuality-- except that I developed Psoriasis at age 18 and have had it in the same areas for 14 years now (I'm assuming you're quite a bit younger than I if it just started in '04).
My question is, is the 50% reduction in the groin area too? I have cleared my dandruff in the past but never in the groin region. Do you drink? Interestingly, my first flare-ups occurred about 1-1.5 years after I began drinking alcohol, so I think that could be another related issue.
Also, do you only drink the urine or do you apply it directly to the rashes on your penis?

I'm sorry it's taken forever and, well, 66 days, for me to reply. I had forgotten about this message I posted in this forum.
What I've discovered, since it's been awhile now, is that urine therapy is a good step. But I think what the real issue is in candida. I made the connection one day when I stumbled upon a page online that indicated that many naturopathic doctors believe candida, or another underlying systemic fungal infection (usually yeast) is behind many if not most cases of psoriasis. Since urine is an antifungal, I figured perhaps this is why it was giving me relief. However, the 50% reduction (on both elbows and penis) was as far as it went. I still think urine therapy is valuable for this and many other ailments and I continue to drink my morning midstrean on most days.
So --for the last several months I've severely restricted my intake of sugars and other simply carbohydrates and begun taking antifungals (oil of oregano, coconut oil, pau d'arco, grapefruit seed extract -- check the Candida Forum ) and had GREAT relief. The Psoriasis isn't completely gone yet but I've seen a great reduction in my symtoms, mostly on my penis and partially on my elbows. I'm starting to wonder if I had a yeast infection at some point that became systemic... I guess I'll probably ever know.
Regardless, I think I've discovered what's behind all my symptoms. In addition (and happily) I've lost over ten pounds in the last months, felt more energetic, motivated, and clear-headed. I really think more people probably have candida than you'd ever think.
My suggestion would be to cut out Sugar a bit and try one or two antifungals. See if you see any improvement and then dive in.
