I just started taking a multivitamin supplement for general health and a chromium supplement to manage my GTF. Within one day my pee turned bright bright yellow. Usually it is pale yellow because I drink 2-3L of water per day and some cups of herbal tea. Does this mean that I am not absorbing my vitamins properly and that I should do a cleanse of some sort?
Bright yellow pee is usually extra beta-carotene (form of vitamin A) leaving the body. It doesn't mean that you're not absorbing your multi-vitamin, it just means that your body doesn't need all that excess beta-carotene.
Bright yellow orange is an indication of vitamin B. Anytime there is B vitamin in your supplement, it will turn bright orange. Ever try Superfood and pee? Same effect. Means nothing.
Although some people say that you're just flushing money down the toilet (more B than you need). I dunno about that, but since B vitamins are water soluble and seem to be safe, I guess it's better to have too much than not enough, huh?
I disagree with h0ppy and agree with doolange - it's B vitamins, but that's assuming you're taking some sort of supplement. Or it could be that you're reallllly dehydrated (makes urine darker though not usually a bright color) or possibly you ate something like asparagus that helped your kidneys clean house.
But normally it's B vits, and that's just how it works - nothing to be concerned with.
For all of you who are missing shelleycat as much as I am and want her back, why don't you send her e-mails and BEG her to come back. I truly believe she is such an asset on curezone and she has left a BIG VOID that no one else will be able to fill. She has helped so many people and I truly believe she needs us, too.
Maybe if we bug her constantly, she will come back.
I started having yellow pee just now when I did the Andy Cutler protocoll for mercury detox. Before that my pee had almost no colour at all for about six years and noone could tell me why. I was guessing my kidneys were so clogged up that they didn't exrete the waste products. Could that be right?
