You really don't have to make a big deal out of washing anything but the tip that is actually inserted into the rectum. A very weak solution of bleach and water will cleanse the bucket/bag, and something like betedene (sp?) is best for the tip. Only the tip needs replacing occasionally.

Metal buckets do tend to rust a bit. Plastic buckets are great but the prices are way beyond what they should be. rubber bags are fine but the way they are designed makes adding things to the solution a little tricky.
