Hi there,
My son (10 yrs now) had what is called Strabismus (sorry about the sp???). He had one eye that turned in but it was corrected through surgery. He was patched etc. for a long time to correct the eye from turning in... so that we could force the eye to work harder and focus to straighten the eye but that didn't work and he has worn glasses froms 6mos.
He is nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other.. from what the opthamologist has explained... the straightening of the eye has helped with the obvious esthetics but also improved peripheral vision. He also has difficulty with depth perception but he copes quite well and is smart as a whip and loves to participate in all kinds of sports.
After the surgery the Opthamologist suggested we allow him to do play on electronic games such as game boy and sony playstation to exercise the eye.... anyway... he's doing great and the surgery was a success and the eye hasn't turned in again (sometimes that happens after a short time). His surgery was over three years ago.
Goodluck!
