There a many posts here talking about a alkaline diet--that this is good for people with candida. I don't believe that. In fact, I hold Tums personally responsible for my candida problem. While pregnant, I suffered from horrible heartburn for months. I took the max dosage of Tums for most of that time. If an alkaline environment is bad for candida, then I should not have any problem.
I read a quite lengthy set of forums a while back about the subject, and I liked best what Burnt Ice wrote. He wrote, in short, that the stomach has to be acidic, and the body (I don't remember if he said blood or tissue) has to be alkaline. Balance. This makes complete sence to me. The function of the stomach is to be acidic--to burn things (hopefully candida, too).
Having come to that conclusion, isn't black coffee good? In moderation, of cource. Maybe before meals, like how lemon water is recommended.
There is also a lot of talk about
coffee enemas for the liver. Does the liver get any benefit from coffee from the other end--to drink it? Of does this stress the liver?
Perhaps I am just looking for a good excuse for my coffee habit--which is 1-2 cups a day.
