Soaking nuts in natural/spring water overnight is great! Sometimes you want to eat them sooner so soak an hour if possible and I was told 10 minutes minimum. Cashews tended to go 'mushy' when soaked I didn't like the texture they were after soaking.
Blanching nuts allows for the enzymes in the nut to start forming as it wants to sprout. It is easier to digest this way and since people suffering from candida tend to have trouble with digestion it is advisable.
