Hey!!
I've been taking ionic calcium and magnesium for about a week now, but I haven't seen a change in my ph. My ph seems to go back and forth depending on how I eat, like if I eat fruit at night if I have a low and don't brush my teeth, then my saliva ph is really acidic in the morning.
Anyways, what kind of minerals are you taking. How long were you taking them before you noticed a difference in you ph.
What do you mean you use lemon juice as the activator?
That is so interesing that your blood sugars are dependant on you liver function. Because that's exactly what I've found!
Everytime I do a liver flush my insulin needs drop and my blood sugars are so much better for a few days. But then in goes back to where it was.
I read an article that says that type 1 diabetes is actually a liver problem and by improving the liver, the article suggests a lemon juice fast, you can cure type 1 diabetes. I did their lemon juice and apple fast and although my diabetes wasn't cured my insulin needs drastically went down and have stayed there. Here is the article that explains the fast
http://users.mrbean.net.au?~wlast/diabetestreatment.html Also click on The Truth About Diabetes at the top of the page, this is where it explains that a disfuntioning liver causes diabetes.
What have you been doing to improve your liver function? I've just been doing liver flushes. I don't do well with supplements, especially herbs, so I haven't done the liver herbs. I also read that taking a tbsp of olive oil at night improves liver function. Hmmm, I might have to try that.
My insulin needs are always fluctuating but the lowest I have ever gotten(while eating normally)is 6 units of lantus and 1 unit of humalog for every 15 grams of carbs, a total of about 9 units a day. I tend to stay around 14 units of lantus and 1 for every 6 units of carbs though. A total of about 21 units a day.
The one things that has really helped me get my insulin down is by staying on a raw diet. I wanted to tell you about a woman named Aimee Perrin, who has type 1 diabetes, who has lowered her insulin to 4-6 units a day by eating a raw diet and using natural therapies.
Here is her website
http://www.livingandhealingraw.com I've been emailing her and she is currently writing a newsletter about eating a raw diet with diabetes. She has been in contact with a lot of people who were able to drastically lower their insulin by eating a raw diet.
That's interesting that you said that meat helps your blood sugar. I'm the opposite. Everytime I ate meat(I don't anymore)my blood sugars would soar and it would take a lot of insulin to get them down. By minimizing my fat intake I am able to get my insulin down. Actually, if I go a weak without eating any fat, just fruits, I don't have to take insulin. But obviously I can't live off that. But it's really very interesting. Maybe not eating fat takes a load off my liver so that it can balance my blood sugars properly. It's really very fascinating.
One last question. How much kelp do you take? Has it changed your blood sugars at all? What benefits have you noticed from it?
Love, Mary
Thanks for all the details! It's great talking to you!
