Once a hurricane hits land, it always makes a turn to the northeast and that's where we live, (from the direction Hurricane Rita took) so it's been windy and rainy all day. We lost power for a little while, but it wasn't bad. It's supposed to rain for the next 5 days and that's OK because we really need the rain. The clouds I have seen today are really big and billowy looking---absolutely gorgeous. They are so low you think you could reach out and touch them. The sun will actually come out when it is raining the hardest. I haven't seen that since I was a little girl
But, what I wanted to share with y'all is a few minutes ago, my husband and I were driving down the road and, from out of nowhere, we actually watched a funnel cloud form! That was a first for both of us and fascinating to see. Then just as quickly as it formed, it was gone.
Hurricanes should teach us how vunerable all of us really are. As smart as we think we are, we are not in control.
