Think of the saying A rose is still as sweet by any other name. It's same for God. God is still God regardless of the name, gender, race or any other trait given to "him". GOd isn't called "him" because it is certain "he" is a male god, but because in the hebrew language and culture of the time refering to God as a male was the upper most show of respect. It's like calling a woman "woman" there was no other word that should more respect (at the time). And the gender reference stuck.
The gospel of John starts with, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. There is no gender or name reference. Just the Word and God. In arabic languages Allah is the translation of God. There is Yehweh, Jehovah, the Great Spirit, and Creator. Those are for OUR benefit. Which name are you most comfortable with? Which gender do you respect most? Or do you need a name and gender? It's all so we mere humans can relate to an all knowing, all powerful source of everything. Personally, I like Yehweh best. Yehweh means I Am. What better "name" is there (in my opinion of course)?
As for who gets God's answer to a prayer, which person is the just and righteous one. Going by the bible God sides with the righteous ones. Sometimes that meant the the hebrews were punished, they didn't do as directed or had turned from Yehweh. Therefore they got punished. That hasn't changed. Whom does Yehweh see as the just and righteous ones in Irag? Us? Them? Niether? It's Yehweh's choice, not ours, in judging which. And of course, the answer or no is still an answer. So is wait, not now, it's now for your best interests, in the future, and of course I will. There are many nmore answers than "yes" and many factors that go into which cause is just and right. Boy am I glad that I don't have Yehweh's job!!!
