PUPPY SIZE
"Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been
back to this animal shelter at least five times. It's been
weeks now since we started looking for a puppy." The mother
told the volunteer. "What kind of puppy is she looking for?"
The volunteer asked. "She keeps saying, "it's the puppy's size"
that's important." The mom replied.
"Well, we have plenty of puppies, in all sizes. We should have
just what she wants today." The volunteer said.
But after looking at and holding several puppies, Danielle
informed her mom that the right puppy was just not there. "Can
we come back in a few days?" Danielle asked her mom. "Maybe the
right puppy will be here then." Danielle's mom agreed that they'd stop back by in a few days.
On Saturday morning, Danielle and her mom were the first
customers at the shelter. This had become quite a dull routine for mom, so she let Danielle go back into the area with the caged pets with the volunteer. Danielle's mom watched through a glassed wall as Danielle and the clerk went from one puppy cage
to the other. Many times, she would see Danielle ask the clerk to let her hold a puppy. But she'd hold it for a few seconds and hand it back. Finally, the volunteer handed Danielle a
puppy, and the mom noticed that her little girl held it longer than the others. Within a couple of minutes, Danielle began
screaming, "Mom, I found it! This is the one!" "But it's the same size as a lot of others you've held over the last few weeks, I don't understand." Mom replied.
"No, not size, mom. It "sighs"." Danielle said. "Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, and you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the
bigger your sighs!" And you know, mommy, every time you hold me, I sigh. And when you and daddy hug, you both sigh. So I
knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms. And, this puppy already loves me. I know it because when I held him close, I heard the sighs of his heart!" Danielle's mom and the volunteer stood speechless.
Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh. You will not only find it in the arms of loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and
the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day. Those are the sighs of God. Take time to stop, look and listen...you will be amazed
at what you feel!

THE CHRISTIAN HOME
On the way home from church, a little 6 year old boy began
sobbing uncontrollably. His mom and dad were both trying to get
him to tell them what was wrong. Finally, the little boy said, "The preacher said he was going to do everything in his
power to see that every kid in church was brought up in a
Christian home....and I want to say with YOU guys!" :-)
