Are you using Windows XP? If so just click on start and choose the option "Set program access and defaults" - it should be in the right hand (light blue) pane.

Click on the "custom" button and you should be able to set your default web browser.

I don't know to be honest. I'm one of those saddos who can't be bothered to switch from Internet Explorer. One feature I miss (from my linux days) is the ability to have "tabs" for multiple windows and the ability to shut down a browser and have it remember those tabs and open them up next time you start. That really was a great feature.

If you find a nice free browser out there do let me know.

I have FireFox and IE on my desktop. I generally use IE because some of the pages don't fit properly on FireFox and I like IEspell.

I also have the google toobar on IE, and discovered that I can't use another search engine because of it. If I want to use another search engine (I'm looking for a good one), I click on the desktop icon down on the left side of the taskbar and then double click on the FireFox icon. Pat.
