I suspect I know the answer to this, but don't want it to be true. I have two coffees in the morning (with milk) and until yesterday it didn't occur to me that that might be verboten. Yesterday and today I only had one... do I have to give my coffee up? Sigh... what about soda? I am addicted to Diet Coke, but once again I have a feeling that will be not OK. What about Diet Sprite or Decaffinated Diet Coke? PLEASE don't take my soda away!!!!!- Re: Can you have coffee on the MC? boobookittyCAT

MoreThis is a reply to # 261,659Aspertame (Equal, Nutrasweet, etc) is one of the worst things you can put in your body. It's highly toxic to the point that some states are trying to get it banned. When aspertame is broken down by the body, one of the byproducts is methanol (think formaldehyde and antifreeze). By ingesting toxins, you are defeating one of the main purposes of the cleanse.

This is a reply to # 261,734also the fda does'nt govern every thing on the market. For instance, all the ingredients in a hypothetical 'pill' may be 'approved', though the combination
and interaction of the ingredients as a whole does not have to be proven or tested.
My father died at 53 as a result of this situation and his Dr not researching the prescribed treatment. Thus , my love for the FDA.

I started Day One today too. I figured that by the end of the long weekend, I'd be at day 7 (without having to go to work amidst a fast).
So far my energy has been great-- the cayenne really seems to perk me up!
I'm hoping to go 10-12 days---- I'm going to see how I feel at day 10 and decide whether to keep going. I have to go on a business trip on July 10, so I may need to break the fast on the 8th and 9th.
Let's see how Day Two goes-- I'm packing up my lemons, cayenne, and maple syrup to take to work. Seems easy enough to make fresh lemonade mix at work......
