There's an ash tree that's about two feet tall, that was probably sprayed with herbicide to kill it, next to some ultility meters next to my apartment, along with a mulberry that's been there for years, that's been cut back every year, impossible to get rid of it. The ash and mulberry leaves looked curled up in a couple spots, maybe they were stressed, not getting enough water, next to old brick building on the south facing side with full sun. I pulled up the ash tree, very easily, grabbing very near the ground and pulling slowly, pulling it out all of the way. The root was only five inches long, in dry soil. Why not try that first, instead of using poisonous chemicals? Seems people are getting dumber every year, as we all know.
I stripped off most of the ash sapling leaves, and put it on my deck outside, and put the root in a glass of water, hopefully it will survive.
As the painter Bob Ross said, happy trees. Well, hopefully...?
