do you honestly think i knee jerk and trigger and dance around about jews? maybe it seems like that only because i make it a point to counter their deceptions and their worship by christians. its a little side project of mine. i dont hate jews, i am one in spirit, in my circumcised heart. and an arian, too. i also know i am an israelite, not sure which tribe.
a mere man, huh? youre talking about human sacrifice. is that your gig?
a mere human. jesus was already alive in the flesh. what did he say? he said no man takes my life, but i lay it down and can take it back up.
John 10
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
so jesus was not a mere man, for sure. he was the son of god, in the flesh. the logos in the flesh. a bit more than a red heifer, my dear.
you know who i think jesus is. you see, the entire bible is consistent and self defined and self explained and self contained. its a complete (perfect) package or picture, if you will. there are many mysteries in it, which it admits. and it tells us those mysteries will be plainly revealed at some point.
the most conspicuous absence of mention in all the bible is adam. we have all manner of types and shadows with abraham, isaac and jacob; with joseph and his brothers; with cain and abel; with esau and jacob; with joshua and caleb; with daniel; with samson; with job; the prophets and a host of others. but there is two we have that are not really reconciled in the text. those are adam and enoch. what happened to them?
well, enoch, i am not sure of. i really dont have much of a clue. but adam? the first shall be last. the last shal be first. god formed him with his own hands. he walked with god in the garden of god. who knows how long he did that? he went through naming al the animals. he went through getting a helper from hiis own flesh. he went through that ordeal with the "serpent". he was kicked out of the garden of god. and he lived for almost a thousand years after that.
this is about as unique as one can get. and yet, silence. until the song of moses:
7
Remember the days of old,
consider the years of many generations:
ask thy father, and he will shew thee;
thy elders, and they will tell thee.
8
When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance,
when he separated the sons of Adam,
he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.
9
For the Lord’s portion is his people;
Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
and as a town in the book of joshua:
Joshua 3:15-17 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
15 and as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,) 16 that the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. 17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
and then in 1 chronicles 1, which bears some serious consideration, for the whole world is one flesh.
job was quite aware of adam and his circumstances/dynamics:
Job 31:32-34 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
32
The stranger did not lodge in the street:
but I opened my doors to the traveller.
33
If I covered my transgressions as Adam,
by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:
34
did I fear a great multitude,
or did the contempt of families terrify me,
that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?
but then it took jesus to reveal to us the rest.
Luke 3:38
which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
so i have questioned - is jesus the reincarnation of adam? both are sons of god.
paul has quite a lot to say about adam.
Romans 5:13-15 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
13 (for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
this is not much of a clarification on the surface of it. are these the same person but different incarnations? certainly there is the progression of passing from death into life. what does this mean - death reigned? abraham, isaac and jacob are alive. and why or how did death stop reigning with moses? what does john have to say in the big reveal?
rev 1
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
man o man there is a lot there. so what does that mean, the first begotten of the dead? and who is "god and his father?" are those two one in the same or two different persons? i dont know enough about the greek to look into it. i will still get the answer, though. again, why did death stop reigning with moses?
John 8:51-58
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55 yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
the jews, once again, getting it wrong. abraham is NOT dead. and as far as jesus being before abraham, that could easily mean he is adam. and if death reigned until moses, how is abraham alive? but i digress.
i love the second chapter of acts. no, not the singing group, the bible chapter. here peter is filled with the holy spirit and speaks:
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 he seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
interesting stuff. so david is both dead and buried. david is NOT alive. and peter said paul was hard to understand!
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
well. and then paul, to the romans:
Romans 1
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Romans 5
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (for until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
well, that explains it.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 7:5
For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
Romans 7:10
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
Romans 7:13
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
to synopsize - the law was there to teach us where our character was lacking. its hard to believe youre a sinner when you see nothing wrong with yourself. the law helps ferret that nastiness out and make it apparent to the most casual observer, meaning YOU.
Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
this is an attempt to get people to see how they too can be sin free.
Philippians 2
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
repent means to change your mind. this is a literal changing. it changes the tree. it changes the fruit. it is in no way some mental exercize or some mantra you chant or some doctrine you can recite. those things change NOTHING. gnosis is a dead end. its not what you know, its who you are that counts.
James 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
well, im still not finding why death reigned until moses. it is probably that the lord told the people that if they follow the commandments they will live. but i have found enoch.
Hebrews 11:5
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
so there is that. still unclear about what was going on there but he pleased god and god took care of him proper and i guess that all we need to know. but no more about adam. its like there is something unspoken here.
James 5:20
let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
there is some motivation. but thats a world away from making a lipserver out of someone. i love james and peter and john. they are so straightforward.
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
1 John 5:16-18 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. 18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
still more questions than answers. what is the sin unto death? what is the sin not unto death? and what are these two entities - he who is born of god and he that is begotten of god? if somebody can pull those answers out without making them up (and i can surely tell) then i will be very impressed indeed.
i find it fun going through the scriptures. ive exhausted this line of thinking. thanks for joining me.
