Dear Dr. Jeff,
I have a worry and I was hoping you could put my mind to rest. A Facebook friend of mine wrote that she had Shingles and that the pain of the outbreaks was literally unbearable and that none of the medications work. Do you think it's wise for a person who has had the chicken pox in the past to get a Shingles vaccine? I don't generally favor vaccines (because from what I understand, you are injected with the live virus and can contract a disease that way), but think this one might be an exception and important to get.
Thank you so much for your opinion.
Yvette
