Decided to start a little diary kinda thing moreso to remind me of the progress I'm making.
Before this I'd never left the lips alone for more than a week, everytime I did I always noticed the skin underneath was more developed than if I had peeled after 3 days. The biggest issue with leave alone is of course the psychological impact, we all have social responsibilities and even the feel of thick crust on your lips can be irritating.
I've given myself a month to review what happens, I'm following the methods of Lees and Monsterlips, only cutting off loose skin and allowing it to peel itself.
Day 11- the middle top part of my lip peeled two days ago, the new skin thickened pretty fast so gonna see what happens when that peels. I've observed that the EC does look smaller, eyes might be playing tricks on me. My bottom lip has one large thick crust over it, the sides are coming a bit loose and I've cut them off. It's taking ages though. Good to see natural colour returning however. The inner parts of my lip are still the most vulnerable, the biggest challenge has been preventing saliva from touching them. I'll see how it holds up for the remainder of the process.
In summary - so far it's still just a waiting game. Just to reiterate, I've never kept the skin on for more than a week on any method I've tried. So this isn't to say that constant moisture or anything else will never work, I'm not sure. But for me, moisture made the skin too weak and harder to keep on. I've noticed that giving it time to peel itself has left behind skin that is still soft. It may turn hard later though, I'll update this at a later date.
