So I have always wondered if smiling prevents lips from healing. Like when you laugh the skin on the lips rips. In my opinion smiling causes the skin to break and then it will become dead skin as it is not connected to the right position its created to be on.
So the question is: does smiling stop healing when there is no skin on the lips? And does it stop healing when there is skin on the lips?
P.S. I truly believe is someone was put in a coma for a month or 2, their lips would heal because no use of the mouth at all gives room for the lips to heal without any interruptions / inflammation
Also I think I have seb. Dermatitis. Does that mean my lips can't be cured?

This is a reply to # 2,401,088I have had this condition for 14 yrs now and I've noticed that my lips are more susceptible to tears when I smile or laugh. Subsequently, I'm often depressed. It's crazy how this condition can affect your whole life.- Re: Smiling causes lip skin to tear ... onedaycured

How long did u try this method ? Applying every 10-30 minutes and not touching builup? It is normal in the first weeks for some dead skin to be clinging on the lips. I have been doing it nearly 3 weeks and I see the lines on my inner lips return right ontop of the red dots. Normally when I didn't use aquaphor there would grow a layer of skin on my innerlip without any lines.
