About to jump into making kefir at home and for my starter I'd like to find a strain with as much biodiversity as possible.
Does anyone have a lead on where to get live kefir grain that is known to have a high number of bacteria and yeast species?

I bought some from Marilyn the kefir lady a few years ago. I eventually stopped the making kefir. It was when I started back that I found some local on Craig's List

I found a guy named Dom (I believe in Australia) who has a huge write up on all things related to kefir, and gives information that the live kefir he offers is a combination of something like 15 cultures he's come across in the past.
So far, from what info I've been able to gather, I'm guessing his strain is probably the most diverse I've run across.
Other than Dom, can anyone suggest where to find known biologically diverse kefir starter?- Re: Where to source bio diverse live... findcount

This is a reply to # 2,397,337i thought many people said they sent money to Dom in Australia but didn't get any grains at all ?
anyway, i got my water kefir grains from Yemoos.com - they sent the dried grains from USA to Singapore and i was able to at least triple the amount of grains then they stopped multiplying............very good after-sales service too as i asked them tons of questions........- Re: Where to source bio diverse live... bradleyheathhays

This is a reply to # 2,397,393the problem with people not getting their grains took place several years back with many members complaining about it...........but you can ask around again to see if the problem has been resolved.........Dom was supposedly very sick back then.

This is a reply to # 2,397,085Before buying online or from other retailer, search to find a local raw dairy, visit them, bring up the conversation and maybe they can provide you a few spoons full of good grains.
