Heck. I could be the one writing this right now. I'm a 25 year old Statian (United States) female with the exact same problem.
Maybe we can compare lifestyle notes to see if we can't help each other out? If our problems are similar enough or the same, we might end up with very lucrative results.
It started when I was about 16-17 and has persisted to this day. I've tried everything from chlorophyll to zinc, nothing staving off the "musty" odor, only lessening it, but not enough for societal views. If and when I sweat it's so light it's practically unnoticeable.
At present, I eat meat very lightly, two or three times a month, and avoid processed foods. Most of my meals are homecooked, and high in carbs. I'm lactose intolerant so I don't drink milk or other dairy. I'm starting to think that the problem is in protein .
I've tried both shaving and non-shaving to no avail. Both natural deodorants and commercial deodorants. I've tried regular antiperspirants, prescription strength antiperspirants, and aluminum chloride, learning that while I strongly with deos, antiperspirants, doesn't matter what brand, smell, or chemical makeup, make me smell foul and strongly.
The worse part is, doctors can't smell me, so I'm essentially on my own with this. Overall, I'm as healthy as a horse with bad B.O.
Things about me is that I'm Black, I'm 5'8", and I've always been really skinny. I have average skin, not oily or dry. I don't have internal pains or secretions, however, my underarms are prone to growing sebacious cyst. Another problem I have is if I over work myself or am close to dehydrating my hands, upperarms, feet, or legs temporarily swell almost painfully.
That's all I can think of for now, but I know how bad this problem can be, and it does hell on your social, sometimes even your family lives. Mine is so effed up, but I'm never losing hope, even if I always have to live like this, knock on wood, fingers crossed that I, or anyone else, doesn't.
I really hope you find we can find some answers, good luck, and godspeed.
