This is a reply to # 2,363,745Tonight (Tuesday) at 6:30PM, I sat with mother while she watched the national news. It included a brief segment about the conspiracy theorist Alex Jones with the stereotypical, melodramatic introduction by the anchor "who claims 911 was an inside job". From here it was only a few clicks before it associated Trump as a fan of Jones' and the dire implications therein.
I did not think there was anything wrong with her television set ..... plus or minus the various things wrong with the regular anchor, the problem was with the network. Mother likes to have what she sees and hears (and by logical extension - thinks) controlled by CBS. An upside to this is that I know several folks who prefer to have their thoughts controlled by CNN and some few ABC; the former have been fading between homicidal and suicidal the past several months while the latter somewhere between homocidal and happy meal ...... the one or two that do any of the NBC variants, in a word, gibbering.

This is a reply to # 2,363,829Well, just in case you were thinking ( or feeling) I was being too critical of mother ( or perhaps women in general), in the past 15 years, she's had a quadruple bypass, each hip broken and repaired with a rod attaching it to its respective leg, a broken forearm (both bones) repaired with several screws, an aortic aneurysm in the low abdomen of a size that usually kills, a mild stroke that markedly affected her cognition and short term memory but despite all of this, at 85-plus years is still kicking.
As far as I am concerned, her TV habit - although something I generally do not advocate for anyone - is about the only activity (sic) she can still endure on a regular daily basis, so yeah, I cut her a lot of slack ...... but candidly voice my observations nonetheless..... sad but true.

"Marriage is a f***ing sham. I love my children to death but I can't stand my wife. I had divorce papers ready to serve to her the day we found out she was pregnant, so have stuck it out for years now. She has no idea.
She's got a temper to the point where it sets a bad example for and scares my kids, and there's no 'alpha' way of dealing with this. But if I divorce her she's gonna get the kids and who knows what kind of stepdad she'd give them.
Beyond that, she's a woman. She's no fun to be around period. She has no interest in anything real, like science or politics or history, when she wants to play vidya with me it's some pleb trash like Diablo that you can just sleep through, and there's really just no point in even interacting with her. Like all women, she'll just drone on and on for 10 minutes at a time about an inconsequential event that if a man were to even mention he'd sum up in 2-3 sentences and move on.
My entire life is a lie. I stay with my wife and play a good husband for my kids, but if I never saw her again I wouldn't even remember what my last words were to her, nor would I care. I don't wish her any harm. I don't hate her. She literally just is a negative on my life that I don't need."
