Hi!
I've come across this forum a few times in my google searches & have found some pretty helpful info, so decided to sign up!
So a few months ago, I started a bit of a detox.
Over the last month+, my face - specifically my forehead- has been looking like a war zone with land mines on & off! I mean various size red pimples & whiteheads, so embarrassing! My upper arms have been experiencing a sprinkling of white head action as well.
A bit about me...
I'm 32, turning 33 May 1st. I was the girl that never had acne. Not bragging, but it was true. Never broke out in my teens. Even after in my 20's & having kids, there would only be an occasional pimple from stress. Once my 30's hit was when I started noticing aging on my face. I have fair skin so when I'm out in the sun, its noticeable.
When I started detoxing, I had already cut out soda, certain candies & anything with
Aspartame YEARS before. From time to time I'll have a Sprite. I've lived with a seizure disorder since I was 5, so especially with the meds, the last several years I've been more conscious of certain chemicals i put in my body from foods.
NEVER had the face breakouts that I've had lately though! Within the last 6+ months, I've cut out all
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) foods. I've become VERY conscious of ingredients. Making sure to eat as much organic as possible. Right now, I mainly eat fish, chicken, veggies & fruits. No pork, RARELY beef! I've had days with major
Sugar cravings, so unless I cave for a boba drink (my addiction, lol) then I'll just up my intake of fruits. Also been drinking ALOT of water lately. The last couple of days I've been drinking cucumber/mint water specifically.
Is it normal for breakouts to last for several months, on & off? I know your body has to cleanse itself after eating processed for so long & especially having been on the same seizure drug since I was 14 which has made a mess of things internally to some degree.
Any suggestions for how to maintain until things are cleared up? I've heard good things about all the uncomfortable stuff being worth the end result, so I've been bearing it. But any tips for helping clear or age maintenance would be helpful. I also wash my face a couple time a week with coconut oil.
Thank you! :)
