If God has called and willed someone to be a prophet, that someone will predict and create the future. The important thing is to find God's will for your life and be a doer of God's will for you. You and people like you are the ones playing God.
All one has to do when predicting the future is to make an educated guess at what has occurred in the the past and the now so don't try and bring your"gift" rubbish into play.
The Holy Spirit is within those that have faith and belief in God and He and He only. He is our guide not those that glorify themselves by taking His place for that is doing precisely what Adam and Eve did.
You are fanciful mate, guided by demons and disobeying God Will, not as you put it "willing someone to be a prophet", that's your ego displaying your disregard for God.
Our PROPHET is Jesus the Christ and don't you ever forget it.

Sam Storms doesn't say that Spurgeon said "Thus says the Lord" in these instances he is talking about.
Do we really understand what it means to say those words, and to also call one's self a Prophet who has been commissioned to say those words?
I do think based on this message below by Spurgeon, that he took the words "Thus says the Lord" very seriously, as we all should:

Is it miracles?

What governs truth for the church?
What must the church submit to when it comes to all truth? God's word, right?
So when anyone says, "Thus says the Lord" that carries a gigantic weight, because God's word is the authority of the church. If these are true prophets Rainy, if they are really speaking God's words, then they have authority over the church. So that means we better pay attention to them, and even study their prophecies as we are to study God's word, and then we must believe and do all they say. We are being disobedient to God if they are true prophets and we don't do as they say. It's a huge deal and they know it.
So "Thus says the Lord" is no light matter. It's huuuuuuge!

Would a true prophet say that? And yet Kim Clement has been saying "Thus says the Lord" for many many years, with all kinds of failed prophecies. And there are countless more statements from Kim Clement like the one above that go counter to God's word (our authority).

This is a reply to # 2,345,195I don't intend to debate on whether Kim Clement was a true or false prophet. That has nothing to do with this subject. I was just trying to show you and Tomi that the gifts of the Spirit are alive and well in today's world. I think that the example of Charles Spurgeon proves that, unless of course, you want to believe that it came from a devil. Some of what you say here is good, in fact, when I was in college, one of my instructors told us not to use the words "Thus saith the Lord" when giving a word that the Lord gave us. I feel that was very wise advice because it makes it sound like the word should be on the level of the Bible, which, of course, it should not. The Lord has never given me a word to give to another person or group, so I can't really relate as to how it all works since I don't have experience in it. I had a roommate that had that gift. I questioned her to find out as much as I could about it. Apparently when God gives a word, the translation of it is in the words of the person who is giving it. That is why you hear some using bad grammar etc. Also, when more than one person gets the same word, the same message is given, but said in different ways. This happens so the word can be judged. I guess it could be compared to the different Bible translations. If it is a good translation it will say the same thing as the original, but they each say it in their own words.

This is a reply to # 2,345,190I do not believe that Spurgeon said "Thus saith the Lord" either. In fact, I'm sure he did not because he did not believe in that as you know. The point that I was trying to make is that Spurgeon was operating in the Word of Knowledge which is one of the gifts of the Spirit. However, Spurgeon did not believe in the gifts of the Spirit for this day or his day. He refused to call it what it was. God did not care about Spurgeon's false beliefs. God gave him Words of Knowledge anyway in spite of what he believed. Do you or Tomi believe that his Words of Knowledge came from a devil? If not, how do you think he got those Words of Knowledge? The video was actually mistitled. Spurgeon was not getting prophecies as the title suggests, but he was operating in one of the gifts of the Spirit. Spurgeon was so full of the Holy Spirit, as can be discerned by his sermons, that I personally don't believe a devil would dare do this to him. Especially, since it caused someone to get saved. The devil is not about souls being saved.

What's important to me is "Thus says the Lord!".
And so far anyone I've seen say those words, unless they are reading the bible, have been imposters.
You say you agree that people should not say that, but yet they do, and will continue, and woe to them that do that, I would not want to be them!

Very interesting that you would say that. You are in denial that God spoke directly to Spurgeon. There is no other way to classify it other than that God did speak to him even though both you and he do/did not believe that God speaks today or then in this direct manner. The human mind is something I have yet to figure out. Here we have beliefs that are so strong that when truth is put right in front of that mind, that same mind refuses it. If you mean "speak to His people" in the way all the lying "Thus says the Lord" sayers of today mean, then I know of countless past and present pastors that would be opposed to that and do not believe God is speaking in that way, through these liars, whatsoever.
But if you mean "speak to His people" through his Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit, then yes, I would agree with you and I sure believe God speaks to us in that way also, and have never said the contrary.
The Holy Spirit dwells inside all believers. So surely he does speak to us. Just not through a bunch of filthy liars, that's what I'm saying, but to no avail, because you both can't understand what I'm saying.- Edit rainy.8

I guess you are calling Refreshed a liar too because God spoke to her directly also, I think it was an internal speaking, telling her to read her Bible.

I also posted a video about how to talk to people who make such bold statements. I already explained that I don't think people should say, "Thus saith the Lord" or say similar statements lightly...but I'm not going to discount that God still speaks to people or I would have to discount my own story. Each person will have to discern whether it is the right thing to do or not when it comes to retelling what they hear....just like I did when Jesus told me to read my bible.
I don't know if there is a difference in when the Holy Spirit speaks to me than when God/Jesus speaks. I just assume because of scripture that when I hear my own voice tell me something that stands out as important, that it's the Holy Spirit which lives in me speaking to me. That does not make me a Prophet to say that the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart or that the Holy Spirit spoke to me from the bible and "this is what I heard". All christians have this ability. Like I said...I believe that I'm also a Witness to what God is doing today.

I want you to imagine this scenario, if you possibly can.
Imagine if Hillary Clinton suddenly died. Then imagine countless people that think she is incredible and awesome (and they were even on this forum). Then imagine I posted an article with the news of Hillary Clinton's death that was also full of praises for her being such a true woman of God, who was so special in her sainthood, one who had advanced the kingdom of God to glorious levels.
With all that in mind, sorry if a little throw up came in your mouth, would you not want to say something to me about my praise article of Hillary Clinton?
So that is how I felt about the article you put up. I know more about Kim Clement than you know I know. And he, and all those like him are a thousand times more dangerous than Hillary Clinton because they say "Thus says the Lord" every chance they get, when God has not commissioned them to do this as evidenced by the biblical tests, and their doing of this is so much more dangerous and blasphemous than you and Rainy I think could possibly understand, until you come to the full truth on this matter.
You and Rainy are not deceived by Hillary Clinton. But you are deceived by false prophets like Kim Clement and so are millions of others.
I'm sure you don't see any of this as I do, which is why these debates go on and on, but I do see it exactly as I have described. So if it is possible for one second at least, to put yourself in my shoes (not asking you to believe as I do, but to just imagine you believed all this as I do) would you not maybe come on a little strong too?
You do come on strong about Hillary Clinton, so does Rainy. But you both seem to think I'm so evil for coming on strong about those that I think are even more dangerous than Hillary Clinton.

It does not seem sincere at all. I don't look at people as demons when they do wrong/evil...just the demonic mindsets within them glaring back.
I have no bad feelings towards Kim like you do. I believe he loved the Lord. I just don't know if he heard everything from the Lord like he said he did. Just like you didn't hear from the Lord correctly when you read Psalms and didn't know that there were prophecies within that book. Doesn't the Holy Spirit teach you all things? No? Are you ever just wrong? Did you not "hear" His words true? You announced to the curezone world that that was not true. Where is your grace cover when you are wrong simply reading God's words of the bible?
I think you are in full knowledge that I told Rainy more than once that I listen to the prophecy that people say and I put it at the back of my mind until God shows me the same or not the same.
