longterm
Although I wasn't absorbing vitamin A, I decided not to take the vitamin A supplements because it was too risky of getting an overload in my system. It's best to get vitamin A from food. The only problem is you can't get as much of it from food as you can in supplement form. But since zinc and vitamin A are connected to deficiency in one another, I think intake of zinc has somehow increased my vitamin A as well. This is just a guess, though.
And I read how being low in zinc can result in candida infections. See, people with stronger immune systems don't get candida. I just happened to have a problem with my immune system from low zinc. Fortunately, it was a problem that could be easily corrected with zinc instead of drugs.
Oh, I read the other day that low zinc may actually cause thyroid problems. Both zinc and vitamin A deficiencies can cause thyroid problems. I don't think my thyroid was affected, but it could have been since holistic doctors have a different normal range than conventional doctors. What I learned from holistic doctors, is these normal ranges are one-size-fits-all, but it needs to be customized like some low blood pressures are normal for some, but not for others.
