myette
So I started
Iodine supplementation a couple months ago because I had symptoms that led me to believe I had a slow thyroid.
The first 2 weeks I took 3mg and didn't feel a difference. But the week after I was a different person. My metabolism picked up (pooped first thing very morning). My stomach was flatter. My energy picked up ALOT. didn't need to nap in the middle of the day. And I slept so much better. And taking it made me feel awesome, more connected to myself and the world, like I was plugged in. (Kind of like shrooms or MDMA for those that understand)
Week 4 I realized I needed to supplement with magnesium and selenium since my throat started hurting. After that, everything was smooth sailing. My skin looked amazing, my athletic performance skyrocketed, and my mood was always up.
I slowly upped my dosage to now about 25 mg/ day, continuing to see improvements in every way.
But here's the thing, now that I'm 2 months in, about a week ago, it's like I hit the undo button. I started breaking out, my stomach is always bloated, and I'm tired all the time. Oh and those morning poops aren't really happening anymore. So I thought maybe the magnesium and selenium had built up in my body which were negating the effects of the iodine. After 3 days without taking both it, I still feel like shit on 25 mg.
I KNOW in my heart that
Iodine is going to fix all the small issues I've been experiencing for years (I.e. stubborn weight on clean vegan diet, fatigue, breakouts, stomach issues) and I'm so upset it's not working anymore like it used to.
I've heard it may be detox but why now after 2 months? Should I just up the dose?
Can anyone help me?
