Inhalation of Teflon fumes.
Six months ago I inhaled vaporised Teflon when the pan I was boiling water in boiled dry. It was a shocking experience and of course in retrospect I could have dealt with the aftermath better. I slept that night with all the windows open but in close proximity to the foul smell. Oven the next month or so I had bunged up sinuses and nose bleeds which, while infrequent, were still clearly caused by the inhalation. Gradually the nose bleeds dried up. I also experienced stingy and watery eyes -?again those have gradually subsided. I am left with ongoing symptoms: sinus pressure, neck pain ( near thyroid) and some shortness of breath. I am a confirmed hypochondriac so in need of a reality check. I am awaiting blood test result from my doc who is testing my thyroid function (I have read that halides - hydroflouric acid being a possible chemical I have inhaled - attack the thyroid and wonder if this is the cause of my neck pain as I don't seem to have a sore throat or difficulty swallowing).
Not knowing the exact cause of my symptoms ( Teflon has has many constituents) a frustrating as I don't therefore know the best detox protocol. What I have been working with is: regular saunas,
Iodine plus selenium plus vit c supplementation). There seems to be some movement or the static discomfort in my neck and sinuses occasionally relaxes and then I have a very distinct metal taste in my mouth.
Any suggestion as to what I need to rid myself of and how to do that would be very welcome.
