Few people would object to the reality of their own enslavement if the owners took much better care of their property. I say you should not be allowed to own anybody if you cannot provide them with free housing. Eliminate the illusion of property ownership and put the responsibility where it belongs, on that which truly owns it: the taxpayer body. What kind of creative activities would people indulge in, if they did not have to work 40 hours to pay the rent? They are trying to keep everyone out of trouble by keeping them busy. The only people who are close to being free are the entrepreneurs who run cash businesses. But even they are subject to the highway robbery of transportations taxes unless they have the where with all to fight a ticket and say no to that form of oppression. They cut the balls off sheep with no anesthetic. Yet people object to a little shot? The ingrates have to be subdued somehow, they say.
