This is almost certainly a positive dream.
I believe that most of our dreams are meant to be feedback to the dreamer. This feedback lets the dreamer know how he or she is progressing psychologically/spiritually. I also believe that most of the things that we see in our dreams come from the dreamer’s psyche (which is the mind). Additionally, these things often represent parts of the dreamer – either his/her psyche or physical body.
OK – now for the dream:
There were a couple of things that were mentioned in this dream that helped with its interpretation: (1) the dreamer had blue and black hair and (2) cars and building were blowing up as the dreamer drove on the freeway.
When I first read about your being on the freeway, my immediate thought was might be the dreamer’s life road that you are traveling. But now I am not so sure.
If we accept that a dream can have a spiritual or a religious meaning, then we should not be too surprised to see spiritual or religious symbols. However, as we know, our dreams will often have little to do with the real world or the dreamer’s beliefs. Thus, we might see pagan or Hindu related symbols in the dreams of spiritual types who are neither pagan nor Hindu. In this dream there are hints of Hindu symbolism. (Although I use the term “Hindu,” the concepts are not limited to the residents of India but are instead found among people of virtually all religious beliefs. BTW – this, of course, does not necessarily mean that the dreamer is a Hindu or that he/she should become one. It is merely the dream’s way of giving feedback to the dreamer.)
I believe that the freeway either represents the dreamer’s spiritual journey or the spinal cord (or perhaps both). The spiritual significance of the spinal cord is related to the Hindu concept of nadis. A nadi is a subtle vessel (sort of like a blood vessel). Although it has not yet been identified by science, the existence of these nadis are commonly accepted by many with a spiritual inclination.
The reason that I mentioned these nadis is due to the three major nadis that are on the back. The Subhuman begins at the base of the spine and ends at the top of the skull. The Ida and Pingala are on each side of the Sushumna. Thus, the freeway may symbolize the spinal cord or the Sushumna.
As a person becomes more developed, the (life force) prana will flow freely in the Ida and Pingala. With more development, the prana will flow freely in the Sushumna. Eventually, kundalini will flow in the Sushumna.
Another sign of increased spiritual development is the opening of some or all of the charkas. Although the chakras can open in any order, they are pierced from bottom to top. The explosions could symbolize their opening and possibly their being pierced.
The blue color of the hair is associated with the 5th or the 6th chakra. The black color is associated with the lower realm of the unconscious (as used by Jung). Thus, the color black could indicate that the dreamer has the ability to enter the lower realms; this is good. As Jung said, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
Hope this helps and is not too confusing
