Hi all, about to break my first true
Water Fast of 45 days. Have a couple of questions concering refeed time table and when i'll regain the ability to workout. Right now the plan is to introduce a new food group every 2 days, ex: 2 days juice, fruits, green vegetables, starchy vegetables, grains, dairy, then meats. I know dairy and meats aren't for optimal health but my job requires travel 6 to 9 months of the year, which in turn amounts to a lot of eating on the road.
I plan to begin weight lifting 2 weeks after breaking the fast, i'll have one month to regain some lost muscle before i return to work.
For those interested in the specefics of the fast, i'm a 30 year old male, 6'1 starting weight was 296lbs, i'll break the fast on monday at around 235lbs. I've had blood flow issues in my feet since i was a teenager, this was completely cured 3 weeks in, rather painfully i might add. Detox has been pretty mild throughout, usual nausea and terrible taste in mouth.
Overall it's been an eye opening experience, i'm not at the weight i want to be, but it's a step in the right direction. Considering adopting a 5/2 intermittent fasting diet to manage any weight gain throughout the year, other than that i'll make the best food choices available as i go.
