Hi, I'm currently doing chanca piedra for what I believe are kidney stones- moving pain in kidney/ureter/bladder that are sharp, jabbing pains. This is following my very first UTI (I'm 64 now). I have been tested, and have what the doctors call 'kidney insufficiency', meaning I'm only functioning at just over half that required. I've never had a twinge from my kidneys before, but my diet was high oxalate and high calcium, along with not very much magnesium. I'm not going near the doc again, after she gave me a totally unsuitable antibiotic, which I didn't take. I cleared it with
Lugols over 3 days - it only took 1 day but I wanted to be sure it was gone. That's when the jabbing, cramping pain on the left side of my bladder started being bad.
I started the chanca peidra, 1000 mgs, 3 days ago - the capsule was huge, so I emptied it into a cup of water in a pan, bought it to the boil, left to infuse for 10 mins, strained and added a tsp of raw honey, and drank it. It tastes fine. Now doing 3 x 1000 mgs a day, and I'm definitely having a 'clear out'. (TMI WARNING) Urine has lots of debris, all whitish, some bits bigger than others, and although both my kidneys and ureter hurt a bit yesterday, they don't today, but still got somewhat opaque urine. Not noticed any stones per se, but apparently this stuff is supposed to dissolve the stones, so maybe that's what I'm seeing. I shall continue until my urine goes clear again, and I don't have trace blood on the test strip (another sign of stones or calcification in kidneys).
It made me feel a bit tired the first 2 days, but feeling much better today, Added benefit = gall bladder pain gone away, too.
