This June I began to fast once a week or so, and occasionally a little longer. Now it is the first winter since the beginning of my fasts.
I feel really, really cold when I fast! I am on a one day fast today. It is evening here and most people are happy wearing a thin layer of woolens while I am covered under several layers and still my feet and hands are cold.
When I am not fasting I'm fine.
I can understand that the body is resting and blood circulation is low, which makes the body's temperature regulation ineffective.
When I am indoors I can use heating, but outdoors it seems to be a challenge to be comfortable, even when I wear a lot of layers.
I had planned to do a long-ish fast of a week or two in the winter but now it looks unlikely that I'll attempt that before spring.
What are your experiences fasting in cold weathers, and going outdoors?
How do you keep yourself warm?
Do you have any problems at all fasting in the winter? If not, could this be an unknown health issue in my case? That doesn't seem to be the case to me.
