In my case, I felt cured around mid July of 2015. I did not immediately revert back to a normal carb diet but I did start drinking fruit smoothies almost daily. And sure enough, the candida came back. I immediately went back on super low carb diet, antifungals, probiotics, etc. I felt cured again but this time I played it safe and stayed away from fruits. I am off antifungals now but I do stay on high probiotics (including fermented veggies and unsweetened kefir) and prebiotics (20 grams of a combination of Galactomune, FOS and larch arabinogalactan). By the way, do not take prebiotics until you have knocked down the candida colonies way down. Otherwise, candida could take off again. But if the probiotic bacteria way outnumber candida, prebiotics will push the balance toward feeding and multiplying probiotics and pushing candida into decline. I also found that the probiotic bacillus coagulans in a dose of 4 to 6 billion CFUs per day. Get the ProDura brand which Swanson Vitamins sells online. This particular formulation is highly virulent and wont be killed by stomach acid. I felt that this probiotic has a great affect on kicking candida to the curb.

When you feel that most of the candida is gone by examining your stools and your symptoms have subsided, then is the time to add prebiotics to your protocol and I suggest lactulose and/or Galactomune since these don't aggravate candida which may still be present to some extent. At this time you can also add some potato to your diet. It also is a prebiotic that will allow the probiotics to make butyrate in your gut which will heal leaky gut.
If you have candida I strongly suggest you avoid all grains and legumes (dried beans, lentils, hummus, etc.) and fruit of course. They are complex carbohydrates which will be broken down into
Sugar in the gut and thus feed candida. I now think that perhaps drinking herb tea sweetened with dextrose (glucose) is OK in reasonable amounts because it will be absorbed into the blood in the upper intestines and not make it to the lower bowels to feed candida.
I now can eat pretty much anything without problems. I don't eat a high carb diet but last nite I did eat half of a pizza and had a couple of scoops of ice cream. I also eat about 1/2 of a dark chocolate candy bar a day. I feel great. I want to give you hope that you can make it too. Just be cautious and slow. You can recover within 6 months to a year but it takes dedication. I repeat, prebiotics really made a difference but you have to be careful not to add them too soon. Wait till you have decimated the candida to a large degree first.
