Finally I was getting some dental work done and was there for cleaning and exam. Although I'd asked to NOT receive a fluoride treatment, I was coaxed right into it... I knew better, and man have I been paying for it.
This Fluoride treatment wasn't like any other that I've had. This was a thick leave on gel that was coated over my teeth and gum line. The hygienist left it on and said to not rinse it off for 6 hours. Well, when I got home a half hour later it came off! Painfully. The insides of my lips and cheeks were stuck to it enough that it caused them to bleed when I pulled them apart. I cannot imagine leaving it for 6 hours!
Then came nausea and headaches, lethargic brainfog, and the worst stabbing gastro pains. My neck and shoulder joints and ~bones~ hurt so bad, especially my right femur. I felt poisoned from head to toe! It's been two weeks now and I still feel like I took 2 steps backward! "the public health consequences from widespread fluoride gel use remain a disturbing mystery."
After reading this article about "most hazardous" fluoride gels, I think they used the wrong product or used it the wrong way... painting it on instead of using trays and suctioning off excess saliva flow.
To counter the overload of fluoride, I started drinking lots of water with a pinch of borax. Supplemented iodoral with selenium, zinc. And even made clay balls to bite down on and hold for awhile to draw out fluoride that absorbed into my gums. It all helped some, but I feel like a real sick idiot.
