I just got my thyroid levels checked, and as far as I can tell everything is normal. However, I wanted to check here, as my doctor is pretty poor when it comes to thyroid issues. I just want to be 110% sure I can rule out a thyroid problem.
I had this test done at around 9:40am, and was fasting.
Results:
TSH 1.900 uIU/mL
Thyroxine (T4) 13.5 - HIGH
T3 Uptake 20 - LOW
Free Thyroxine Index 2.7
T4,Free(Direct) 1.40 ng/dL
Triiodothyronine,Free,Serum 3.8 pg/mL

This is a reply to # 2,285,108I am only familiar with Free T4, TSH and Free T3, so I can't say for sure on the others. I believe the physicians normal range is 0.40-4.50 mIU/L for TSH. Also, there is "normal" as far as doctors are concerned, but that does not mean that they are optimal. Also it doesn't mean that they are optimal for you in particular.
For example my TSH is at 1.59 but I feel horrible. It is technically in the normal range. People with hypothyroidism have high TSH and low T4.
Free T4 should be at 0.8 to 1.8ng/dL
Do you have issues with Chronic Fatigue, etc?
