I think He said the opposite, 'if they're not for me, they're against me' but I get your point and I agree with that more or less. It still doesn't excuse Christians giving a bad name to Christianity that becomes a stumbling block to people like you that are trying to seek the truth in Christianity.

'IOW, yes. We're searching for truth, but as long as we all BELIEVE in Him, we're not condemned, right?'

That's what Jesus says and I believe Him. Once He has us, he doesn't finish with us until His work is complete. However, sooner or later His work in us becomes hard for us to accept. We have to continue with Him to the end.
