Last may I developed a stuffy nose and anxiety and both were chronic. I mention the stuffy nose (living on nasal spray) because I noticed that this seemed to come on around the same time as the anxiety. I think they are related. It was so chronic, that I became completely bed ridden for 4 months. From August - October, I got a huge level of healing and I became 90% better as I began to focus on some childhood issues that I had been ignoring. Around the beginning of the year, the anxiety started up again along with the stuffy nose. This anxiety is characterized by shortness of breath. I am constantly struggling to breathe. I am so desperate for help and to make this stop. I don't feel that my mind is racing (until the anxiety starts), I'm not a worrier, a controlling person, afraid of situations, people or overly fearful. I have been living on l-theanine, GABA, Homeopathic pills for anxiety and essential oils. Sometimes I take a xanax and it can help. However, I have one bottle of pills and it lasts me for a year. I just don't like meds, but am about ready to give up and get on some to get my life back. I am wondering if this is not anxiety but rather inflammation of the lungs? I will awake in the middle of the night with shortness of breath, I will have it in the day, there is no pattern. It feels like a plague that I can't get rid of. I have done EFT and it does help. I ran through a myriad of tests last year for lungs and heart. They said I had COPD, (never smoked or been around those that did except for extended family every once in awhile growing up), but I think that's just a result of struggling for breath for so long that it over extended my lungs. My heart is fine..thank God. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Is it inflammation in my lungs because of the stuffy nose symptom? How would I even go about checking that.. a live blood analysis? I'm so desperate and tired of waking up struggling for my breath so much that I have to get up. If this is anxiety, then how in the world do I figure out what is causing this when I have no idea what I have been worrying about as it isn't a conscious thought. should I liver cleanse? Is this an allergy? (Up to now, I have never had any allergies)What about lung inflammation? Maybe this is some deep seeded emotion that is stuck in me. I'm just so tired of looking for a root.. I just want to be better. I am hoping that someone has a similar situation and answer as I feel like I have exhausted every thing that i know to do. I just want my life back.

This is a reply to # 2,242,089Liver Flush will help not matter what. You must check if you ahve any allergies. Also drink warm water and nothing cold out of the refrigerator. Take one teaspoon of Turmeric powder with warm water twice a day. This will take most of the inflamation away.
Then you need to work on deeper issues about your anxiety. Usually it is related to Depression and lack of micronutrients.

This is a reply to # 2,242,089I'm sorry to read about your experiences and challenges. I wrote numerous responses on the Anxiety board with regard to this dreadful condition - it might be helpful to you to check the thread out.
With regard to the stuffy nose and sinuses, there is no possible way to determine what the cause of the condition is without a physical examination and, perhaps, blood tests. Whether one is caused by the other, vice versa, or purely coincidence cannot be determined in this manner. What CAN be addressed on a written forum is approaching anxiety.
You mentioned that you had begun to focus on childhood issues for a couple of months and believed yourself to be 90% better, and that's wonderful that you felt that. But, childhood issues are not resolved in 3-4 months, particularly if they are a tramatic source of anxiety. Learning and practicing management techniques requires time, patience, and a whole lot of focus.
It might be prudent to consider the options of having a physical exam, blood labs, and consulting a counseling therapist (NOT a psychiatrist, but a licensed professional clinical social worker, LCSW). Some physical responses to anxiety can be crippling, and anxiety is NOT rooted in a physical/medical condition, generally speaking. Anxiety causes conditions which increase anxiety which exacerbates the conditions, and so forth. Anxiety and stress kills.........from high blood pressure to sleep apnea to eating disorders to strokes, anxiety is a catalyst for many, many conditions and cannot be simply wished away, pilled away, cleansed away, protocoled away, or supplemented away. Certainly, these things can help the physical aspects, but they will not "cure" the root causes of the anxiety. Only YOU can do that through practice, processing, and patience.

Sounds like you may have tripped your adrenals.
Same think happened to me when I was given spirolactone to help control an Acne breakout. Spirolactone decreases testosterone and increases cortisol.
Around the same time I began to experience chronic stuffy nose. It was unbearable. I felt I had two pillows shoved up my nose. This was beyond regular sinus infection. I couldn't breathe. I would have terrible insomnia because I felt I couldn't get air into my lungs. I had to breathe thru my mouth which made my mouth very dry and intensified the feelings of suffocation.
I was prescribed an oral steroid which I did for 7 days and then Flonase. Which I used max dosage every day to control stuffiness. Worse experience of my life. I went bat sh*t. I had the worst anxiety. I became manic. I couldn't sleep except maybe 2-3 hours a night. I would bolt wake in the middle of the night with my heart racing. I became manic from lack of sleep. I had epic panic attacks. I couldn't leave my house. The slightest thought like "I forgot to..." Would fill me with terror and I would go into a huge panic attack. I couldn't sit still. I talked really fast and literally had one dr tell me I was crazy. My study nose and dry mouth became worse to where I had to "sleep" sitting up with a Sugar candy in my moth b/c my mouth was so dry. Between my nose and mouth I felt I was suffocating.
I was given Ativan, xanxax and lexapro. Didn't help. I still suffered from terrible anxiety. If I did manage to sleep it was only for 4 hours before I would bolt awake.
I finally figured out it was the nasal spray and medication. When I discontinued both, my body leveled out after a couple of months and the anxiety went away. No more pysch drugs.
My adrenals are very sensitive and prone to stress. When I trip them..thru either physical or emotional stress..both anxiety and chronic stuffy nose go hand in hand. The more stressed my body feels the more stuffiness I have to where I feel I can't breathe.
Someone here mentioned Iodine which is good. People who are chronically stressed will have both low sodium and potassium levels. Add sea or Himalayan salt to your diet. Increase your potassium.

This is a reply to # 2,242,089Mold mold mold! Listen, I obviously can't diagnose you, but I have similar symptoms and know for a fact that fungus has colonized my nose. I NEVER had sinus or anxiety problems until being exposed. Look into natural or Rx antifungals from a well educated doctor. The reason we've tried and failed with so many different protocols, is because we are not killing the pathogens!
