Dave,
That's very true, I too have experienced an "emotional disbalance" during fasts and restricted diets. You know, I've been mostly against resorting to psychiatric substances since my symptoms started, but I recently learned about a few natural supplements that work as well as medications to regulate mood and anxiety. I've been considering giving them a go, because lord knows I've definitely developed social anxiety and mild agoraphobia over the years. Who doesn't hate the constant "do you smell that? Grosssss" comments everywhere they go...
Maybe these same supplements can help counteract the psychological effects of diet restriction? (The chewing on something craving though, that's going to be a challenge. Gum migt help?)
The ones I read about were Taurine, Theanine, and inositol. Do you know anything about these or others?
This guy made a blog about his Soylent diet and claims that it isk uplifting, maintainable, and healthy:

It is very intriguing, and the list of ingredients seems to be extensively researched. It's at a link toward the bottom of the blog entry.
Oh, and quick update, BP 10% still going strong.
Best regards,
Joel
