Dr. D. Robbins in his book, The Toxic Dental Office, writes, "Should the child swallow too much fluoride during the [topical fluoride] procedure, the dentist is supposed to insure the child immediately drinks milk or antacids in a liquid or gel formulation. The calcium in these products binds the excess fluoride in the stomach and prevents it from being absorbed by the gastrointestinal system....calcium and fluoride bind so tightly within the cellular structure of the body, the calcium cannot be available for bone growth, muscle formation, and nerve conduction." p 188-9.
Has anyone else ever heard this?
My community has fluoridated water like so many others. I put a small squirt of milk in the water I sip in the evenings.
Does anyone have any thoughts about the possible usefulness of such a small amount of milk for the purpose of reducing the amount of fluoride that we absorb?
